Given our focus in analyzing game pads, the first step of this project consisted in accumulating these objects. Although the project’s aim at first was about game controllers, we quickly limited our attention to game pad only. We therefore started a collection of the main pads (from famous brand such as Nintendo, Sega, Sony, Microsoft) as well as derivations (such as the Nintendo Power Glove which is not a pad strictly speaking) and rip-offs (fake pads). The picture above gives a flavor of some of the objects we found in flea markets, eBay, Amazon and video game shops in Europe and Asia.
